Pinterest has really been fuelling my desk envy lately. (I mean just look at this and this and THIS!) I decided that I wanted to prettify my desk before the baby arrives, so that when I return to work it’s all ready and waiting for me.
Very happily this project has been made so much easier (and fun!) thanks to the lovely new stationery sections popping up in my favourite shops. Tiger branches have been opening up everywhere lately, and are particular lifesaver. I love how often they rotate their stock so you can always find something new, pretty and ever practical. H&M Home has gorgeous things, and who knew Primark had a stationery section?? On top of that I can’t travel through Victoria station without scooting upstairs to Hema – that place is a wonderland. I have to admit my desk obsession is almost up there with fabric at the moment!
I thought I’d film a little tour of my desk space for you, which you can watch below or over on my YouTube channel.
Because I only updated my desk recently, if you like any of the things I’ve shown you might still be able to get them. I’ve listed them below, along with links and close-ups.
Magazine boxes – Ikea
Hello sign – Tiger
Wire hanging basket – Tiger
Noticeboard – Primark
I covered this little box with posh wrapping paper from Paperchase. It’s such a simple and and effective way to turn something boring into something pretty. If you want to have a go, have a look at my tutorial.
I love these vintage buttons. Far too sweet to hide away in a drawer!
Washi tape has to be a stationery geek’s ultimate vice. I love it! It’s so colourful and makes a great alternative to masking tape if you like sticking your artwork on the wall.
There’s a tutorial for this super cute concrete planter coming very soon!
And last but not least, I love to keep a delicious-smelling candle on my desk for that extra bit of calm.
I hope you enjoyed my little tour! How do you style your desk? Is it important for you to work somewhere uplifting and inspiring?
