DIY Flower Garland

Lisa Comfort - Flower Garland DIY

I got quite a few requests to explain how I created the flower garland on the front cover on Issue 2 so I thought I would share it with you! We were lucky enough to think of snapping a few shots as we made it. It is a super easy and a fun way to incorporate flowers into your home. All you need is a piece of string, some small pegs and your favourite flowers.

You will need:

Wooden pegs (one for each decoration)
String
Flowers (a variety of lengths and sizes)
Eucalyptus

Once you have chosen the wall to hang your beautiful flower garland, simply attach the string to the desired length, leaving a little give for a nice curve. Next, place the eucalyptus along the full length of the string so as to hide it.

You’ll want to create a nice even spread of flowers and the easiest way to do that is to place flowers with a nice long stem using the wooden pegs. This will help you when deciding where to put the rest of your flowers.

You can place then place some big and beautiful flowers to act as a statement piece and really make the garland pop with colour, again using the wooden pegs.

Lastly you can fill in the remaining gaps using nice filler flowers such as gypsophila.

You can use any combination of colours and sizes to compliment your home. All that’s left is to stand back and admire the view!
