I have always loved a jumpsuit – even before they were back in fashion. I have some amazing ones from the 80s that I picked up in a vintage shop that I have worn to death. The first one I designed for Sew Over It was the Poppy Playsuit – I personally like the longer leg version. Super simple but so versatile. I plan on making one for my July makes.
There have been some fab hacks of them on the sewing scene. Rosie and Ellie made gorgeous ones in their Team Makes vlog (Betty and Lea dress combos). If you haven’t seen them then check them out. And last month I made my favourite hack ever – a Rosie dress and Ultimate Culottes hack. I want to live in this every day. So comfy and so stylish.
Jumpsuits when done well are just so stylish and so easy to wear. And if you aren’t a whiz on the sewing machine/don’t have time to sew one, there are some great ones out there. I have picked some of my favourites out below.
Love this off-the-shoulder number. It’s navy so is super sophisticated even though it keeps your shoulders bare I would definitely wear this to work. Love the shoes they have styled it with too. The Orange satin number looks so cool. Love that sleeve detail. Elegant and chic – yes! The polka dot one is a safer option for those of you work in offices. Pretty yet smart.
These two are more casual/weekend type jumpsuits. My friend was wearing the Monki one to dinner the other night and she looked fab. I am thinking of getting one myself as the jumpsuits I have that are casual (I only have a couple- promise!) I have been living in at the moment. Practical, no brainer outfits for this hot summer.
And finally I love the simple-tailoring vibe of these two. Warehouse have a lot of jumpsuits so worth having a browse online. The navy one I think would be great for the office and the pink one would look fab with a chunky necklace for a wedding or summer party.
So tempting to get all of these!!
